N64 Passport Plus III

The N64 Passport Plus III is an adapter to allow you to play PAL games on a US/JAP N64 or more commonly US/JAP games on a PAL N64.

Generally those who play US/JAP games on a PAL N64 seem to experience fewer problems than those of us who want PAL games on a US/JAP N64.

I personally have an RGB modded US N64 that I bought so I could enjoy my current collection in the highest possible quality and am in the UK so all my games are PAL.

To use the Passport Plus III you need to have the Passport, a boot cart (The same region as the N64 to be played on) and a game to load of course.

Generally the best game to use and is the most recommended as the boot cart is Mario 64, the boot cart slots in the back of the Passport Plus III and then the Passport Plus III slots into the N64 then you just slot in the game you wish to play in the top and turn on the N64.

I have created this page to help give more information to those with the Passport Plus III as there is very little available in this day and age and codes are hard to find and there's never any guarantee that they will work, they are also not explained properly so I shall do my best to rectify this.

Some games don't require a code to boot they work fine without.

Just got my N64 Passport Plus 3 and I was wondering where can I get codes to enter in so that the games that are allready loaded in the Passport Plus I can put in more cheats than they give me and where can I find cheats for games that arent in the list?

Answer:

Sorry for the late reply, all the codes on my site are all i could find, however some info ive yet to put on my site or even try myself is that sometimes to get a game to work you need a game from the region of the console that has the same lockout chip (as this seems to be the main problem) as the game you are trying to play.

As for finding cheats, just google for n64 gameshark or n64 action replay and all the cheats that come up for those should work find here's one site i found http://www.gamegenie.com/cheats/gameshark/n64/index.html

I've found your website while searching for a list of games working on the N64 Passport Plus III. My goal is to play a PAL version of Carmageddon 64 on my NTSC console. On your site this game is listed as non-working. Did you ever heard of a way of playing it? I struggled to find this rare german copy of the game, sealed, and I would love to be able to play it.

I've not had any success passed what I wrote on that article a while back, However I have a theory that the non-working games may work if the cartridge plugged into the back of the Passport III has the same cic protection chip as the game you are trying to play, I only had Mario 64 to test at the time if I remember correctly.

These days I just use my 64Drive (N64 flash cart, you should check it out if your an N64 fan and haven't heard of it) to play the games, and keep my real carts safe out of the way.

I'm thinking of buying a passport 3 plus and just came across your website, pretty great. Do you think that the passport 3 plus is the best adapter to use for PAL/NTSC conversions on N64?

I also read that some people suggest the Universal games Adapter 4 over the passport. I personally only own 2 NTSC games I want to play on my PAL console. WWF No Mercy and WWF Wrestlemania 2000. According to your website they are suposed to work. Can you verify that?

I never really ever had any more success with the Passport beyond what I posted on my site, Not have I tried the Universal Games Adapter 4, I did have a problem playing a lot of games, I eventually solved this by getting the 64Drive Flash Cart which has no problems playing any games on my N64.

The only games I ever tested are at the bottom of which doesn't include those two I'm afraid.

Boot Codes

Includes all available boot code lists I could find (May or May not work).

When entering codes there is four code options press right on the d-pad as soon as you choose add code and you should have Default On selected there is also Default Off, Button (which means an Action Replay/GameShark code that needs a Button Press to Activate) or boot code.

Choose boot code and it will change to the correct length for the bottom codes.

Remember for the ones that don't work that I've tested all the above boot codes but the one I list is the one that "works" the most or is supposed to work.

Also if you manage to get any of the non working ones working please contact me and I'll update the list be sure to tell me what codes and boot cart you used
