Summary
I am a Graphic and Web Designer as well as a Systems and Network Administrator, I've done mainly only charitable graphic work in the past, though I did do some at my previous job as Administration Assistant and Systems and Network Administrator for Springboard Scotland Trust: Dundee.
I am somewhat of a Geek/Nerd Cliché due to my extensive knowledge on Computers (Hardware & Software), Science Fiction, Contemporary and Retro Games and general font of all-round useless knowledge geek.
Among the Science Fiction I enjoy are Doctor who, Star Trek, Stargate, Farscape and Original Battlestar Galactica.
I've increased my System and Network Administration knowlege quite a bit over the last year or so setting up ever more advanced environments for my work including doing stuff that some people judging by forums seemed to think was impossible or too hard to do and hence shyed away from it in favour or alternatives, however in such situations i prefere what i consider to be the most dynamic and efficiant approach (though i'm fine with proven wrong in such situations if i have erroneous or incomplete knowledge on the subject).
I have at times in the past migrated to Linux as a Desktop OS only to revert to windows however i have recently made the jump back to Linux (Ubuntu Distro) and so far am sticking with it, any windows software i run through VMWare based Virtual Machines my 2 Main ones run Windows 7 and Mac OSX Snow Leapord, The downside though is the video acceleration support in VM's are still not very evolved so i may end up at the very least with a native isntall of Windows 7 for gaming purposes though these days most of my gaming is done through DOSBox or played on Consoles.
I love games & music, my ideal idea of socialising involves a game of Dungeon and Dragons or a game of Magic the Gathering rather than going out to Pubs and Clubs which I do not find in teh least bit fun as I am not a fan of Drunk people or loud Noise.
I like to draw and paint and occasionally write when I'm in the mood, I also like coming up with story concepts and game concepts of which are usually bizarre but usually don't end up having anything done with them past the ideas stage.
I am also writing a novel in my spare time when I am in the mood to go about writing it, most of it is in my head and I usually just get lost in thought rather than end up writing it down which I should be doing!
I am currently volunteering at Springboard Scotland Trust: Dundee which i did before i worked there and probably will continue to do untill i find another job.
